Tree surgeons South Wales Arborists have
set down roots with a major new contract.
This Jersey Marine-based company is branching out and has recently signed a
five year deal with Western Power to keep electricity lines
clear of foliage. This is in addition to their work with HiLine (BT), Afan Landscapes, local authorities, developers
and private homeowners.
Launched only 18 months ago with an
investment to date of £210,000, the company will soon be up
to 20 staff on the back of rapid growth.
Business Connect Neath Port Talbot
have supported SWA from the start and played a key role in
the firm’s expansion.
Business Advisor Deborah Bowen
explained, ”We have worked with SWA since they launched, and
assisted in obtaining funding from HSBC, Neath Port Talbot
CBC and the Welsh Assembly Government.
We also helped with developing their
business plan, and advised on the tendering process, which
has helped secure the Western Power contract.”
Managing Director of SWA,
Stuart Michael said, “Business Connect have been very helpful and
without them we would never have been able to expand as
quickly as we have.”
Turnover this year will be around
£500,000, and is expected to reach £750,000 in three years.
“We see growth coming with further contracts from utilities,
and local authorities, as well as from private sources,”
added Stuart.
