Local
businesswoman Shelia Cosker is the Director of Rolls Choice,
a successful cafe based in Port Talbot. Sheila
approached Business Connect when the business was operating from a
small unit based in the In-Shops Port Talbot. Since starting up the business had
grown slowly into a very well respected small firm
employing two part timers and one full timer (the Director).
Trading results for first three years only showed a small
increase in profit which was due to the fact that the
business became very restricted in the premises at the
In-Shops with very little room for storage or expansion. Unfortunately
the In Shops part of the shopping centre is prone to low
footfall so Sheila decided that her business need to
relocate in order to prosper.
Leanne Daniel
of Business Connect assisted Rolls Choice with an application
for funding to relocate to larger more adequate premises in
the Aberavon Shopping Centre. An application was made to
Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council and Natwest Bank
for a total of £11,000. The application was successful
and the funding was allocated.
Today Rolls
Choice is located in the main Aberavon Shopping Centre on
the first floor close to Wilkinson's. The business is
a thriving cafe providing full cafe facilities, freshly
baked product and a takeaway baguette service which is
popular with office workers. Without the assistance the business would have
been unable to successfully relocate and expand. Rolls Choice now has two full time employees and
three part time employees based at the new location in the
town centre.
So the next
time you are shopping in Aberavon Shopping Centre call
upstairs and enjoy a coffee at Rolls Choice! |
